Simplicity 3688 Retro wool pants and a Sewcation

Remember this pattern:

Oh ya, most likely you don't because I can't believe I haven't mentioned it!  I just searched my archives and no such mention I can find.  Although I am sure I did!  Well, about 3 weeks ago, I finally had a chance to hem and wear these gorgeous pants.  I started them back in the spring.  I made them from a camel coloured wool almost exactly the same colour as the pattern photo.

Well, since then I have ran more, ate less meat (it's expensive and the growing babies gotta get their protein!) and been stressed.  The moral of the story...they are too big!  Poop.  See for yourself:
Wrinkled after a morning at church.
Too baggy in the bottom!
Too wide across the lower back.  I had this so nicely fitted last spring.
Pulled up and sticking my tummy out to hold them in the proper place!

I really like these trousers.  I'll make more in linen or lightweight denim much like the rest of the vintage loving sewing community.  Surely I will start eating soon and gain some of the weight back.  It is far to rainy and dark to run more than once a week or less.  Then these will fit once again.

In other news, I am preparing projects for a weekend crafting get away at my favourite ranch.  Thursday night to Sunday afternoon in a room, any time day or night, my choice, filled with crafters (mostly scrapbooking).  The only schedule to adhere to is the hot food schedule and I can even blow that off if I want to.  I know, paradise.  I am blessed.
